We finally got high-speed internet!! Now I don't have any kind of excuse for not posting on here on a regular basis, unless you count the fact that I GOT A JOB!!! I'm an Events Specialist at Wal-Mart, one where I worked for two years, so I know the manager, many of the employees, & a large part of the customer base. It's a comfortable environment for me, & I really like the job, to boot!! I don't actually work for Wal-Mart, though, but instead work for a marketing company out of California. Most of the interacting is done online...I had heard of jobs like that, thought it sounded good, & now I work for one! I am being blessed abundantly!
We probably wouldn't have been able to get the high-speed, had it not been for the incredible, awesome contributions of Vocational Rehabilitation!! It is their goal to help the disabled (wow! I can finally admit & say that I'm disabled without cringing!) find gainful employment, & they do what they can to make that happen. For me, I have to have high-speed to do my job, it's one of the requirements.

I guess you can say I've made it my resolution to post something on here each week...after all, I may have a faithful follower or two. ;) My husband, Matt, had an emergency appendectomy last week, but you'd never know it to look at him. The day I picked him up from the hospital, he was at our neighbor's house, trying to work. He's one hard worker!! Aleksa, our oldest daughter, who just turned 15, has been asked out on her first official "date". It's a formal dance at the high school in New... Continue reading...

Apologies, apologies!!! I have not been a very good website host...it has been 2 months since I wrote anything on here...WOW! I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving & a Merry Christmas, as well as a Happy New Year!! I, for one, am very excited about 2010...I mean, I know my 1st book was published in August, 2009, but other than that, 2009 was a very difficult year for me & my family. I have a feeling things will get worse (at least financially, which was what played a BIG part in the yea... Continue reading...

I'm sitting at my booth at Vintage Vogue on Saturday when a cute, little elderly woman walks up. She looks at my book display, & starts reading my newspaper articles. I smile brightly at her & say "Hello," to which she looks at me, smiles & says, "I voted for you." Thinking I've misunderstood, I say, "Excuse me?" She repeats the words, "I voted for you," to which I say, "I'm sorry, ma'am, but I believe you have me confused with someone else." With a surprised & disappointed look on her f... I contacted a local magazine, Splurge, about my book/story, & received this response...
"What a great "inspiring" story! Notice my email address is Inspired Koncepts which is the name of our company that owns SPLURGE! We strive to make everything we do "inspiring".
I have forwarded your email to our editor and editorial staff for review. Thank you for sharing your story with me and thank you for being a faithful reader! Amy (editor) or myself will be in contact with you. If your sto... Continue reading...

Dear Lynda, "I have mailed you a "proper" thank you note but also wanted to email you and thank you for being our guest speaker on Sunday. You did a GREAT job and we thank you for being willing to share some very painful life experiences with us. You are indeed an inspiration---proving that God can turn bad events into good. I've received many nice comments this week about the worship service and you and your family. It was so nice meeting ALL of you and getting to visit with you and Matt ... Continue reading...

Wow! Just when you think things are starting to go in your favor, something happens to bring you back to reality! For myself, it happened yesterday when someone from the Wichita Eagle finally responded to my request for them to review my book. Only it wasn't with a book review, but instead was with a return phone call from the guy in charge of book reviews. He told me that the Eagle didn't review "inspirational" books, nor did they review "self-published" ones. I was kind of stunned at h... Continue reading...
